| I am Janet, the proud owner of Brags-n-Wags LLC. I have been an animal lover my entire life. So it would seem only natural that I would find a career path in which I could spend my time enjoying the company of creatures big and small! I am a graduate of Cook College, Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science. |
I first became interested in training dogs when I was faced with the realization that our precious new puppy had difficult social "issues". In order to keep her in our home, I needed to learn as much as I could about canine behavior and obedience training. Little did I know that my "problem child" would open up the door to a whole new career! |
| I became a certified professional dog trainer and was the Senior Pet Trainer for a major PetSmart retail store in Princeton, NJ for about three years. During that time, I passed and held the rigorous Certified Pet Dog Trainer examination which is given through the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). Later, I served as the Director of Pet Training for a dog training school in northern New Jersey. |
Through the years, I have enjoyed grooming my own dogs, especially the English Setters that my husband and I breed and show. With that in mind, I decided to specialize in grooming pet dogs. |
| After serving as salon manager for a high volume grooming salon, I decided that I wanted to provide my clients more individualized attention and to be able to apply my knowedge of positive training methods especially for the more difficult or sensitive dogs that I groom. That is when Brags-n-Wags mobile grooming was born! I consider grooming to be an art form. Each dog presents a unique "canvas" and each dog is special to me! I consider it an honor to groom my clients' beloved pets. Therefore, I seek to provide the very best grooming and customer service that I possibly can. |
I am an experienced AKC dog show handler. I am proud to say that I have succeeded in handling dogs to win many Best of Breed and group placements including two wins at the famous Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show! I love showing dogs because I get to combine the two things I enjoy...training and grooming dogs in the spirit of competition! |
| My husband, Tom is co-owner of Brags-n-Wags. Tom is the life support for Brags-n-Wags! He maintains all of the equipment and the van in top running condition and provides technical assistance. Brags-n-Wags is here because of his never ending love and much needed moral support! Tom is also the proud owner of RV Resource, his on-site RV repair business. |
